Schoolhouse Capital Adds Funds to 529 Offerings

July 8, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Schoolhouse Capital has added mutual funds from Fidelity Investments and Baron Funds to the investment lineup of its direct-sold 529 college savings plan, The Education Plan.

According to a news release, the two new fund families join existing fund offerings from Janus Funds, MFS Investment Management, and State Street Global Advisors.

Fidelity Investments will provide three funds to The Education Plan’s age-based and custom choice portfolio options – the Fidelity Advisor Mid Cap Fund (Class A), the Fidelity Advisor Diversified International Fund (Class A) and the Fidelity Inflation-Protected Bond Fund (Class T). Baron Funds will provide the Baron Growth Fund.

The Education Plan is open to all US residents and allows families to save for qualified higher education expenses on a tax-advantaged basis. The Education Plan is sponsored by The Education Trust Board of New Mexico and administered by Schoolhouse Capital.
