Schroders Names Head of Municipal Credit Research
As a senior member of Schroders’ global fixed income research team, Friedland will oversee the firm’s municipal bond research and analysis. According to a recent press release, he brings more than 24 years of investment research experience in the municipal sector to the firm, and will be based in New York and Philadelphia.
According to a press release, Friedland comes to Schroders from Fitch Ratings, where he was a senior member of the public finance management team, responsible for overseeing credit criteria and policy for the group. Prior to Fitch, he also served as Director of Municipal Research at Belle Haven Investments, Director in the Public Finance Group at Financial Security Assurance and Senior Analyst at Moody’s Investors Service. Friedland earned his MBA in Business Administration from Duke University, and received a Masters of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University.
“Eric will continue to deepen Schroders’ global fixed income credit capabilities,” stated stated Karl Dasher, Head of Fixed Income for Schroders, in the announcement. “Eric is a noted thought leader within the municipal industry and his experience will build upon the firm’s commitment to offering a world-class multi-sector fixed income platform.”
