Securian Adds Invesment Choices for Retirement Plans

July 19, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Securian has expanded the number of investment options in its investment array for retirement plans.

In a press release Securian said it has added a mid-cap asset class to its array of standard investment options.

The two new investments added in its mid-cap asset class, according to the release, are:

  • Mid-Cap Value Equity III – underlying investment option is Goldman Sachs Mid-Cap Value Fund and Institutional Shares.
  • Mid-Cap Growth Equity I – a managed separate account advised by Advantus Capital Management and sub-advised by Disciplined Growth Investors.

In addition, Securian said it has changed the naming convention for options investing across small- and mid-cap securities to small/mid-cap to align the naming with that of the market and increase understanding for plan sponsors and participants.

The additional investment options brings Securian’s total in its Standard Array to 18.
