Securian Begins Distribution of Redesigned Statements

November 25, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Securian Retirement Services has unveiled new 401(k) statements, incorporating easy-to-understand language and color graphics, to assist plan participants in understanding their retirement accounts, according to a company press release.

The new statements will contain value of account, percentage increase or decrease in value during the reporting period, total vested value, and current investments on the first page.   Information such as an activity summary, loan summary and performance of all investment options available in the plan, will be found on the second page.

Statements will also include a newsletter with information on investing, tax law changes and retirement plan news along with a color-coded pie chart identifying investments with their percentage and dollar values.

Additionally, participants will be encouraged to visit Securian’s self-service Web site ( www.accuserveonline.com ) – to manage their accounts online.

Securian’s nearly 200,000 participants in its 2,700 plans will begin to see the new statements over the next several weeks.
