S&P Introduces Hedge Fund Index

November 18, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Standard & Poor's (S&P) has launched the S&P Hedge Fund Index, according to a company press release.

The S&P Hedge Fund Index, designed to be representative of the overall hedge fund market, includes 40 funds, equally weighted and corresponding to nine different investment strategies. These funds are further divided into three style band sub-indices: Arbitrage, Event-Driven and Directional/Tactical.
