Workers Fired for Sexually Explicit E-mail

April 25, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com)- Six workers at the Washington state Department of Labor (DoL) have been fired for what is believed to be excessive use of their work computers for personal e-mail, much of it of a sexual nature.

State labor officials have reportedly found hundreds of sexually explicit messages ranging from banter to planning for a sex party.

Fourteen other workers are being investigated and two have been disciplined.

Meanwhile, at least two of the fired workers are appealing through their union saying that the organization’s policies were never made clear and that other employees committed worse e-mail violations without being disciplined.
