Workplace Romance Bans Ignored by Many

February 14, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Love may be blind, but some employers are refusing to turn a blind eye to love in the workplace.

One-third of companies in the United States have a policy forbidding romantic liaisons between co-workers – but 38% of workers polled ignore the ban, according to a HotJobs survey.

More than half of those polled said they knew of a romantic relationship between two colleagues at work. Around one-quarter said they had dated at least one colleague, 10% had dated two and 12% had gone out with two or more.

Between 7,200 and 19,200 people responded to the polls on HotJobs.
