Fidelity Adds Ibbotson Associates Advice to DC Clients

May 26, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Ibbotson Associates will provide investment advice to participants in the more than 10,000 defined contribution plans serviced by Fidelity Investments, Fidelity announced Thursday.

The new service will provide 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plan participants the ability to receive independent professional investment model portfolio recommendations and directly implement them through Fidelity’s defined contribution planning tools and services, Fidelity said.

The new offering broadens Fidelity’s existing guidance available through Fidelity affiliate Strategic Advisers, Inc. Fidelity said the new service should be available to the company’s plan sponsors nationwide by the end of this year.

“We continue to see an increasing interest among our defined contribution plan sponsors for independent professional advisory services,” said Steve Deschenes, executive vice president, Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company, in the news release. “By working with Ibbotson, we now offer plan participants access to an additional source of assistance in managing their portfolios that can help them further improve their retirement readiness.”
