Houston Co. Gives Employees the Gift of Gas
May 22, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Methodist
Hospital System has distributed almost 10,000 gas gift cards
to its employees to provide some relief from increasing fuel
costs.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
According to a news release, each employee of the Houston, Texas employer received a $250 fuel gift card. In Texas, the average price of gas is $2.83 per gallon.
“Methodist employees are very committed to our patients and to our mission,” said Ron Girotto, president and CEO of The Methodist Hospital System, in the release. “We are grateful for each and every one of our employees and we want to help take the sting out of this summer’s energy costs.”
Methodist also offers free yearly bus and light rail passes and subsidizes van pools to provide transportation alternatives for employees.
