A new survey of 167 companies found that workers at “meetings” off-site on certain days often had specific agendas, Reuters reported.

In fact, the poll, by Genesys Conferencing, showed 81% of office workers admitted arranging meetings to fit in with personal activities. More than half of the colleagues of the workers scheduling the meetings had raised eyebrows about the event’s true purpose.

The survey found that

  • The most popular reason for a bogus meeting was to allow for an early weekend getaway.
  • Friday afternoons were the best for meeting lovers or to go shopping.
  • Monday mornings were the most popular time for scheduling a meeting to mask looking after the children.
  • Wednesdays were the preferred time for job interviews.
