Spanking Victim Suit Winner Nabbed for Petty Theft
A report on the Web site of California TV station KSFN-TV said court records show Janet Orlando has pled no contest to a petty theft charge.
According to the report, the charge relates to shoplifting allegations at a Fresno supermarket made less than two months after she won the jury verdict. Orlando sued her former employer, Alarm One, alleging that she was spanked with a yard sign on three separate occasions in front of jeering co-workers (See Jury Awards $1.7M to Victim of ‘Motivational’ Spanking ).
The company would have sales teams compete with the winners poking fun at the losers, according to a news report. Tactics included throwing pies at the losers, making them eat baby food, making them wear diapers and spanking them with a competitor’s yard sign
Alarm One officials contended that Orlando was a willing participant during the meetings and never complained about being spanked. The jury’s award included $500,000 in compensatory damages and $1.2 million in punitive damages.
