It made it all the way back to #23 on the Billboard charts that year. One of the movies to feature the song was “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.”

“Back to School”, where it was sung (not lip-synched, as Matthew Broderick/Ferris Bueller did) by none other than Rodney Dangerfield.
Additional Trivia: As it turns out, the rerelease stayed in the US Top 40 for seven weeks in 1986 – and, coupled with its original 16-week run in 1964, makes “Twist And Shout” the longest running Top 40 hit for the Beatles (23 weeks).
