BIO: Deborah Spedon, client service manager with Bank of America, has been with the bank for 23 years. She previously handled loans for Norwest Financial.

The key to working with Elbit Systems of America, a source of technology-based systems for defense and commercial applications, as well as all clients, is to listen very carefully in order to provide top-notch service, says Deborah Spedon, client service manager.

Human Resources (HR) Director Teresa Williams of Elbit says Spedon provides the “highest level of service for Bank of America,” is always well ahead of deadlines and asks pertinent questions during her weekly meetings with Elbit. Williams said Spedon makes this aero-defense contractor “feel like we are her only client and, clearly, she cares about making our 401(k) plan and non-qualified default contribution plan [NQDC] top-notch.”

Elbit Systems of America made an acquisition in 2019 which increased the company’s headcount by about 20%. Williams said Spedon not only did her part to ensure that Bank of America was ready to receive the new employees, but she always had her actions completed ahead of time.

“During the acquisition, we had problems with our HR payroll vendor not meeting deadlines or Bank of America requirements,” Williams said. “Deborah isn’t part of that group at Bank of America that handles file feeds, but she took an active role in coordinating meetings and ensuring her team was up-to date.”

Spedon says her intention is to exceed clients’ expectations. “I want to help make their job as easy as possible while achieving their goals regarding the 401(k) and their employees’ financial well-being,” she notes. “It is important to then follow through with a plan of action to resolve any issues at hand while considering the impact of your actions and ensuring that you can get ahead of any potential questions or issues. I enjoy working with my clients and I want to do the best that I can for them.”
