A sporting goods manufacturer client said: “Besides always being there to answer questions, keeping us on track, understanding our corporate culture and making recommendations accordingly, Marianne has also assisted with coming up with and providing a solution to the challenge we noticed after our reinstatement of after-tax contributions after decades of it not being an option. The challenge was the order in which it was listed on the website—showing up as pre-tax, then after-tax, then Roth, then catch-up, because that was the order in which they were first available. What was happening was that participants were mistakenly selecting after-tax instead of Roth, and potentially missing the company match. Marianne (and the Schwab team) was able to jump through some administrative hoops to reorder the options by switching all of the after-tax folks into new after-tax accounts behind the scenes so that the option choices were pre-tax, then Roth, then after-tax, thus avoiding much confusion for our participants—and our staff, trying to make sure those that were in after-tax actually meant to be there.”
A nonprofit organization client said: “The service team demonstrated exceptional dedication and teamwork over the past year, particularly in their assistance in onboarding our new investment consultant, lending their expertise during the termination of our defined benefit plan, which they do not administer, and during the transition of our nonqualified plans. Their ability to go far above and beyond expectations was truly impressive, and their commitment to delivering a high level of service did not go unnoticed. Their efforts were a key factor in the success of the project and a testament to their professionalism and excellence.”
